Ten Incredible Sculptures Made From Broken Glass

It is time to inject a little bit of culture into you all. Say hello to Marta Klonowska from Poland, because she made the entire top 10 you will see below-using nothing more than broken shards of coloured glass! And because she is a true animal lover they are all easily recognisable as the animals they are meant to be. So without further ado, it gives me great pleasure to bring you…

From a ruined pile of broken shards of blue glass comes this rather amazing dog statue, vibrant, colourful and very fashionista style, just don’t let it anywhere near the kids.

With this cat, you get to really see the glass shards up close and personal. With so many individual bits and pieces to stick together, you just know each and every statue takes a long time to make, which does make you appreciate them a little bit more.

The dog is made from slightly larger pieces of glass than most of the others, but it is none the less creative for it. It makes you wonder how many times the artist has cut herself.

Back to the smaller shards of glass, but this time shaped to take on the form of a Lemur! What I liked about this one was how playful it looked, like it was ready to pounce.

Foxes are one of those animals that look amazing anyway, but make one out of broken glass and you have something truly amazing to look at. (Only you can never touch it)

Not one of the best-looking ones I grant you, but a number of folds and layers makes this one stand out a little from the rest. I bet you if you put it in water it wouldn’t float.

4 – PLAYFUL DOG – www.lorch-seidel.de

The 2nd of our dogs and this time it is slightly larger, and a lot more playful in the stance. I love the way the artist uses the larger parts of glass for the paws and lower legs, to give it the illusion of no fur, just like a real dog has!

This tiny little red fox shows the high level of detail the artist can put into a single statue. I have to wonder how many she has made and then they have broken or fell apart.

By using different layers of coloured glass the artist creates what is essentially fur! The different colours of glass really do make that show up in style when used like that.

While it is a dog let again, for me it was one of the best. I used to have an old Old English sheepdog and let me tell you the fur looked just like this! In fact, it is simply amazing how close to the real look of the dog the artist has achieved using nothing but glass shards.
