Willy Burger

Picture an old-school diner, now put it in Texas, that is Willy Burger. It is a Texas spin on the classic diner feel. They have famous Burgers, onion rings, and the best shakes west of the Mississippi.

Most burger joints today have gone corporate, and it takes away from the unique experience you get when getting a burger. What makes Willy Burger so special is that they aren’t corporate and don’t have an agenda. When you go to Willy Burger, their number one priority is that you enjoy your meal, that’s it.

Gourdough’s

Every country, state, city, county, or even town has its version of the best donut. You should make your best effort to try every single one before you decide which one is the best. If you haven’t tried Gourdough’s donuts, you should go down to Texas before saying which donut is your favourite.

Gourdough’s is a locally run establishment in Texas. Even though they specialize in making the best donut in Texas, they also serve a variety of other delicacies for your enjoyment.

Luna’s Mexican

If you like your meals big and the prices kept low this is the place to go. I had stuffed avocado and tortilla soup here and both were simply divine. While it can get a little busy at times it is worth going at quieter times for a better experience.

Biscuits + Groovy

Breakfast is commonly referred to as the most important meal of the day, but not many people see it as the most exciting meal of the day. The goal of Biscuits + Groovy was to take breakfast and make it exciting. They wanted people to get excited about waking up in the morning and getting their first meal.

They did this by taking a breakfast classic, biscuits, and gravy, and they did make it groovy.

LuLu’s Bakery and Cafe

Lulu’s had seen its 30 seconds of fame when their three-pound cinnamon roll ended up making an appearance on Man vs. Food. When people say everything is bigger in Texas, they don’t lie. LuLu’s bakery lives up to the name that everything is bigger than Texas.

It is not just the famous cinnamon rolls, everything in LuLu’s is supersized, plus it isn’t that expensive. So if you go to LuLu’s Bakery and Cafe, you will get the bank for your buck.

If you try anything here try the Texan Roll crab cakes. They are the best things I have tasted in a long time and they simply melted into my mouth. The staff were great and the decor was relaxing making it the perfect Friday night dining experience.
