Matt Galligan Rubix Cube Art

10 – Sea Art

This stunning photo was taken by Matt Galligan and it is one of the bets photos of Rubix street art I think you will ever see. The rocks and water look dirty, the colours on the cube look faded, but yet it has a look of retro sadness about it and how the Rubix cube might well be abandoned and forgotten.

Toilet Rubix Cube Art

9 – Toilet Floor Art

While I would love to think that this is an image of Ernő Rubik himself and I’m sure it has been done in some college or design students home. Sadly no name or location behind it, but I do love it that is for sure and wished my own bathroom floor looked that that.

Made by Cube Works Studio in Toronto (who we will come to learn a lot more about later on) this massive mural of Macau, China’s skyline uses over 85,000 rubiks cubes and is a mind-blowing 200 ft long 13 ft tall display and took several months to accomplish. It is (very obviously) the world’s biggest rubik’s cube mosaic.

7 – Crochet

We have come to see quite a few styles of Crochet art before now, and much like the others it is slightly weird. Often called “Crochet Grenade Artist” her real name is Marcy Kraft and giver her some wool and she really can just about make anything from it! Cars, bikes, Rubix Cubes, you name it!

Giant Inflatable Rubix Cube Art

5 – Inflatables

If you thought the ones in my post “Top weird inflatables”  was enough to make you wonder why, check out this well timed and perfectly placed photo by Claudio Papapietro for The Wall Street Journal of the large inflatable cube, that was in fact heading to a weekend-long celebration of the 70th birthday of its inventor, Ernő Rubik! Daddy, I’m coming home.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort Rubix Cube Art

4 – Pop Century

With several 70’s and 80’s themed areas it makes sense that there would be something relating to the Rubix cube retro toy somewhere on the premises. The cube its self is an exterior stairwell in the 1980 block, right next to the Pacman hotel block.

Street Art Rubix Cube Art

3 – Street Art

Over the time of doing this blog we have some to see a lot of street art, but this really does have to be one of my most favourite ones. This 3D effect art was made by Jeazer Oner who has done some of the very best I have ever seen.

Super Mario Rubix Cube Art

When it comes to making art from Rubix Cubes it is the world-renowned collaboration of graphic artists called Cube Works Studio. They have twisted Rubik’s cubes and Rubik’s-style cubes into stunning, cutting-edge works of art all over the world and for me, this was the very best they have to offer. Yeah, the nerd side of me always wins.
