With a strange mix of Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte, the impact these 2 famous artists had on Robert Gonsalves life is quite clear. With a stunning mash-up of mind-bending illusions and amazing paintings they really do have to be seen to be believed…
10 – Bridge of Ships
From a sea bridge to a sea of ships, this first image was the first one I ever saw and fell in love with the style of it almost straight away.
9 – Night Sky Curtains
I will be honest and tell you it was this image that took me the most time to work out what was going on. But how long did it take you?
8 – Forest of Ghosts
Now this image is a little creepy. From a reflection of trees to a ghost walking out of the water, it has a very eerie feel to it.
7 – City Blocks
This could almost be how people see the world of Minecraft! With a city of blocks, it is easy to see how the 2 merge seamlessly with each other.
6 – Greatest Tree House
From a tree house to a normal house. How on earth the artist merges the two worlds I will never know, but it must come from a crazy thought pattern indeed.
5 – Water Workers
Some of these while very beautiful seem to have a hidden political message behind them. But the way it is portrayed would make any hard-hitting issue look amazing.
4 – Snow Sleeper
Out of all the beds, why did the person have to sleep in that one? But a fresh blanket of snow really can look like a fluffy bed.
3 – Sky Balloons
This person is going to need a lot of puff to get that many balloons inflated. But by the look of her umbrella behind her, she is just sick of the rain and has decided to do something about it.
2 – Sky Ski
This is another image that took me a little while to work out what was going on. It is often the reflections and clarity of the things not included in the illusion that can really throw the human eye off what the real illusion is.
1 – Tree Riders
By simply covering half the image you get 2 different angles of the same scene, but to put these to together is nothing short of genius. I am sure you will agree Robert Gonsalves is a very talented artist indeed.
