While most people associate the peach with hotter American states like Florida a peach is native to China. But you don’t have to visit china, or anywhere else in the world to see some of the most unusual and rarest peaches because I have them all right here in this post…
10 – Harrow Diamond
This cold hardy, productive peach is one of the most popular early varieties. With its deep yellow firm flesh, it has excellent flavour and very good in all weathers.
9 – China Pearl
Often considered to be the strongest of all the peach varieties. An excellent white peach variety producing fruits in exceptional hardiness even withstanding sub-freezing temperatures!
8 – Tropi-berta Peach
Tropi Berta Peaches are often very large, with firm, juicy yellow flesh with excellent flavour. This tree also requires a lot more pruning than others due to its much faster growing and often bushier leaves and foliage.
7 – White Lady
This fruit is a sugar white-fleshed peach that is low in acid and full of flavour. IIt it also said to have an aroma that is almost heavenly!
6 – Flamin’ Fury
That small fruit next to the bigger one is a normal size peach, and that bigger one is the Flamin’ Fury Peach. Recognised by Guinness Book of World Records as being the largest type of Peach in the world!
5 – Desert Gold
Desert golds are one of only a few peach trees that can self-fruit. The tree its self grows up to 30 feet tall and is also considered to be one of the fastest growing as well. Most notable for its heart shape
4 – Dwarf
I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that this is one of the smallest peach trees you can grow. The entire tree will never grow more than 6ft high! But most only make it to half that height.
3 – Heirloom
An heirloom peach is not a particular breed of peach, rather a variety of peach that has been around for more than 50 years! That is one old peach!
2 – Red-Fleshed
Sometimes called blood peaches or Peche de Vigne. The flesh of the fruit is stained a deep red peach and it is said to be one of the most delicious in the world
1 – Donut
Would we all like to eat more doughnuts instead of boring fruit right? Well, why not combine the two by eating doughnut peaches! Sadly they just look like our favourite sugar snacks, not taste like them.
