Ten of the Very Best Hotels in Herefordshire, England

While it is far from the biggest of the English counties it is conveniently located for people wanting to stay close to larger parts of the UK. So that means there are hundreds of hotels and B & B’s within this area. While I haven’t stayed in all of them (obviously) I have stayed in more than enough hotels in this area to make a good list of what I personally think are ten of the very best hotels within the Herefordshire area…

This rustic-chic country pub & fine-dining restaurant features some of the biggest rooms I have ever seen. In fact, for most people, they are bigger than their own bedrooms at home! If you plan to visit the cathedral or pop into Hereford city centre for some shopping this is a great place to stay.

Having stayed here a few times the staff and the hotel never fail to make me feel right at home. Sure, it isn’t in the best location but what you do get is peace and quiet in the beautiful countryside. Plus there is some pretty good pub grub to enjoy.

You don’t just they the joy of staying inside a Grade II listed building here, you get to stay in somewhere that has real historical significance. While it doesn’t offer much in the way of amenities it more than makes up for them in staff friendliness and comfort.

Looking for a golf resort that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? This hotel has you covered. There is a well maintained 18-hole golf course and for everyone else who isn’t into golf, there are 140 acres of parkland to explore. Oh! And some very upscale rooms to enjoy when you are relaxing.

While it doesn’t have the amenities to back up its posh persona there is a tennis court, helipad and some fine-dining to be enjoyed at the restaurant. There is more than enough here to make you smile, but just not enough to enjoy, but the price is kept low to counteract that.

You can’t help but feel at home here. The owners are always friendly and there is also farm animals to look at and interactive with. It just feels like a home away from home and is simply perfect for the whole family.

This isn’t the perfect Cloud 9 (the name of the Health Club attached to the hotel), but for the price, I think it’s pretty great. With a large pool and spa to enjoy this is the perfect relaxing weekend getaway for couples, or with kids that love swimming.
