Ten of the Very Best Hotels in East Sussex, England (Based on Personal Experience)

It is hard to imagine East Sussex as an ancient kingdom of the South Saxons because almost all of that trade and history has been lost. But what is left now is a rather busy historical county full of great places to stay the night and great locations to see in the daytime. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels all over East Sussex, but these ten are the best of the best…

While I will be the first to tell you that this hotel isn’t perfect for the price I still place it as one of the very best places to stay in the area. With some nice sized rooms and pretty good food this hotel is perfect for a nights stay, but any longer than that and you will start to see its problems.

If you want a hotel with an impressive exterior this is the one you want. Most rooms have a balcony with a stunning view, but sadly there is very little in the way of other facilities. But for the price, I would still stay here time and time again even if it is missing a few things that you might expect given its modern looks.

With its Edwardian chic rooms, mansion style and very impressive landscaped gardens this hotel is as posh as it gets and there is very little about it that isn’t upscale. But the one thing that isn’t is the prices and one of those rare hotels that really should up their prices. Every night you stay you will feel like someone in a Jane Austen novel.

But never judge a book by its cover or low price because this STUNNING hotel has large spacious rooms, first-rate staff and customer service and even offers some pretty fancy food and facilities. Just one night stay here and you will understand why I make a beeline for this hotel everytime I am in the area.
