Ten of the Very Best Hotels in Cheshire, England

Located North West of England, this county is famed for some of its produce like Cheshire cheese and salt, so it has a good food pedigree before we even start this post. With some big cities and towns within its boundaries (including Chester, Warrington and Crewe) it was always going to have some pretty amazing hotels to stay in. While I haven’t stayed in all the hotels in the county I have stayed in more than enough to justify making this list of ten of the very best hotels in Cheshire that are all based on my own personal experience…

While some might find this hotel a little too quirky I think it has a lot more character than most other hotels. Located just a few minutes walk away from Chester Racecourse it is a hotel that offers just about everything in spades and has a style that makes it both highly memorable and neoclassical.

If you like your hotels posh, but affordable this is the place to stay. Located in 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside it is an upscale golf resort of sorts that doesn’t overcharge. They have good food, OK service and a nice spa and pool to unwind in making it the perfect adult getaway. While it is OK to bring the kids, I think this is more of a relaxing adult getaway.

This is what I like to call an ooh and ahh hotel. I call it that because that is the noises you will be making when you see the hotel itself and the rooms you get to stay in. From its stunning views of the 60-acre lake to the joys of it being very close to the Sandiway Golf Course, this is a hotel that might be small on the outside, but it does still offer some pretty big rooms depending on which ones you get. I will say it is worth splashing out the extra for the bigger rooms.

People come from miles around just to eat at the steakhouse and use the spa facilities, but staying here isn’t even half as expensive as you might think. In fact, I would go so far as to call it good value for money! This is a hotel to relax in, unwind in and get away from it all. It was once an 18th-century manor house set in 12 acres of garden, but even now it has that home away from home feeling about it.

Have you ever wanted to stay the night in a castle? If you have this Castlelike estate with very chic rooms might be for you. While it is an upscale hotel it isn’t even half as old as you might think it is, but I will say I found the price quite low given the level of customer service and amenities you have access to.

While some people will argue that this place is overpriced I think it offers just enough to justify its own asking price. Set within 4,000 acres of forest this 19th-century castle is the pinnacle of luxury hotels (especially in the local area). Fine dining, luxurious rooms and excellent staff are the name of the game here and that is what makes this place worth its price.
