After two years of flight restrictions and cancellations, 2022 is the year we hope to return to our favourite destinations without any restrictions and cross new ones off our bucket lists (albeit fully vaccinated and COVID tested).
COVID has not been eradicated completely, but people have resumed their lives with proper precautions. Tennessee
Tennessee is a beautiful state with lively cities steeped in music and civil rights history. Since this region is located in the heart of the city, it is not far away if you live in the United States, making it a great weekend excursion. The journey arcs through Tennessee, allowing you to explore many of the best state parks, museums, and picturesque locations.

Bahamas
The Bahamas has long been a favourite destination for American tourists due to its crystal-clear waters, beautiful beaches, and warm temperatures just 50 miles off the coast of Florida, but there are plenty more reasons to visit in 2022.
Apart from the beach, don’t forget to experience some of the local cuisine and culture. The Island archipelago is well-known for its stew fish and rock lobster. Moreover, a carnival is also celebrated in Nassau from late April to early May, resuming after a pandemic break. Keep an ear out for the classical junkanoo music and dance.
Alaska
Many enthusiastic vacation-goers headed to Alaska with several international borders closed in the last two years. The huge state, known for its snow-capped peaks, enormous national parks, and lively locals, provided a dynamic getaway that didn’t require a passport. However, as the borders reopen, interest in the 49th state continues to grow.
According to the Alaska Tourism Board, more than 1.57 million cruise ship passengers are expected to visit southeast Alaska in summer 2022. Many long-time favourite cruise lines, such as Holland America, will be returning to full strength after a restricted 2020 and 2021. The Sealaska Heritage Institute in Juneau will open its Arts Campus, where tourists can learn about Alaska Native culture and art.
Thailand
Thailand is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world because of its numerous islands, beaches, temples, and great street food, all of which are available at reasonable prices. If you’ve been yearning for a tropical getaway, Thailand has beautiful beaches to meet everyone’s preferences. Thailand, however, is much more than its palm-fringed beaches. You may combine relaxing with a visit to Bangkok’s street food vendors, UNESCO-protected old capital Sukhothai, or Chiang Mai’s markets.
London, UK
When most people think of London, they think of busy streets and rainy days. But in terms of the wet-stuff it really doesn’t have that much rain-fall when compared to other major cities. In fact, in terms of annual rainfall, it doesn’t make it into the top 50 wettest cities!
Egypt
The year 2022 will be a turning point for Egypt. The Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza is set to open in November after months of waiting. It is the world’s largest archaeological museum, with a collection that contains all of the funerary artefacts discovered in Tutankhamun’s tomb, which will be 100 years old in 2022.
It’s also the 200th anniversary of the discovery of the Rosetta Stone, which provided us with the key to understanding ancient texts. If you have never heard nor seen any pictures of this amazing island you are in for a treat. It really is one of those places people should be adding to their bucket list despite hardly anyone even hearing about it!

The Maldives, a dream destination at any time, became a COVID-safe paradise this year, and its rise is only expected to continue. The Maldives is where tourists come to unwind and enjoy island life at its most stunning. Whether you’re sailing through marine life on a cruise or relaxing in your own overwater villa, the possibility of returning home unsatisfied is close to none.
Dolphin watching is very popular in the Maldives. Communicate with your hotel or a local dive facility to arrange a snorkelling trip in these waters on a clear day, when your chances of seeing a dolphin are highest.
Penang, Malaysia
Many of us are yearning for epic culinary trips as a result of the pandemic, and Penang ranks among Asia’s best. This Malaysian island in the Andaman Sea serves a diverse selection of traditional Malay, Chinese, and Indian cuisines.
Everything can be found in hawker centres and storehouses around George Town, Penang’s capital, which is full of historic structures ranging from old English villas to classical Chinese traditional buildings and Islamic mosques.

The City of Arts and Sciences is a gigantic futuristic complex with a planetarium, scientific museum, and Europe’s largest aquarium. From there, you may cycle or walk across Valencia Turia Garden, which was developed on the former Turia River bed. Furthermore, if you travel in March, you may join the Las Fallas Festival, a five-day street celebration that features the burning of wooden sculptures and fireworks.
