Top 10 Nerdy, Creative and Unusual Bookends

I’m weak! I always said I wouldn’t, but now I have and I feel ashamed. Don’t worry, what I am talking about is E-Books. I always said that I would never get an E-Book and that actual paper books were the right choice for me. Well, today I downloaded a book that I wanted to read from the Google Ebookstore.  Is this the end of my paper book days? Well maybe for a while anyway so I will put my real books up on the bookshelf for retirement, but wait a minute…I have an open-ended bookshelf and no bookends! Seems I need a set of these…

  7. I know I said I couldn’t pick just one, but this is the one that jumped out at me first. It’s very simple but yet I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it, and imagine going through a whole stack of books looking like it’s going through a long tunnel. I can almost hear the train whistle – It’s brilliant!

  8. Real books! I read enough online throughout a day. When I want to read a novel, I want to curl up and immerse myself and get away from any and all screens.

  9. I LOVE bookends. There are so many interesting and quirky ones, so why do I still have boring ones?? Thanks for sharing these.

  10. I knew there was something missing on my bookshelf! A decorated book end! The ones I have now are plain boring. When I get some free time, I’ll look for some ideas to decorate them.

  11. There is nothing like a proper book – the feel, the smell, the words on the page. E-books just don’t quite make it. So that makes book ends necessary and I love the giraffe one – I think of my “giraffe moments” and that would be just right. I don’t think I am really a nerd, I am not all that attracted to a lot of them – though I rather like the idea of book bricks. Something one can do oneself as well.

  12. I moved from a 4 bedroom home in Canada to a one bedroom apartment in Florida a few years ago so most of my ‘stuff’ is in storage. I probably have 20 boxes of just books-many purchased at flea markets and yard sales the year before I moved and still unread. I also have three floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in the apartment where books are rotated in and out as I read them.
I am a seeker of SPACE…..The Final Frontier!

  13. OK…I admit to nerdhood. I especially love the magnetic ones and the Hogwarts train. If I bought a set of each, and built a wall of bookshelves, I could get all my books out of the boxes. That would be heavenly!

  14. I refuse to show this to my husband on the basis that I don’t want zombie hands in my house. If he sees them it is over!

  15. I love the safari one and the bricks one – now I’ll need to build more shelves to accommodate more books so that I can get more bookends )

  16. Fascinating Russell! Wow! I love them all and I will just go and buy books so I can use all the book ends! LOL! Thanks for sharing another lovely post. All your hard work is so much appreciated for sure. 😀

  17. Because they are cool! I’m not saying that I didn’t enjoy the Harry Potter films that I have seen, but I’m not sure if I’d qualify as a fan. I’ve never read any of the books, have only seen a couple of the earlier flicks, and couldn’t name them. But your post has “reminded” me to check out some of Harry’s more recent exploits!

  18. My kids saw this post and loved it. They can’t believe how cool these bookends are. My boy loves to read and has tons of books. He could sure use some of these. My kids favorites are 9,7,6,2 and 1. They said to tell you that you rock with this post. Coming from a hard to please 20 and 21 year old that is a real compliment. They agree with me that you are definitely not a nerd, but really actually cool. 🙂

  19. No Sir nerds are NOT the new cute. I however, am. Also, I pick the brackets. Also, I love the train.

  20. The walking dead inspired bookends is not funny. I will freak out at night when I come out to grab a cup of water while sleeping. 🙂

  21. yeah, i’m like djdfr….but i really like no.3……the magnet one makes v. little sense to me – unless a person isn’t meant to read their books

  22. I don’t need any of these because our bookshelves are so full, we can’t cram anymore in and therefore there is no risk of any books falling over.

Which one did you like?
