With over 3 million people within its walls and one of the largest metropolitan areas in the UK, this is one top tourist destination and home to some stunning hotels. While I haven’t stayed in all of them (obviously) I have stayed in more than enough hotels in this area to make a good list of what I personally think are ten of the very best hotels within the Greater Manchester area…
Great John Street Hotel, Great John Street, Manchester – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
Just a short walk from the Manchester CCC (Central Convention Complex) as well as the Manchester Opera House this is a boutique hotel that offers luxury all the way but does require a high price of admission. With is trendy rooms and rooftop terrace this is one hotel that feels a lot more exotic than its location might suggest.
Radisson Blu Edwardian, Manchester, Free Trade Hall, Manchester – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
Sure, it’s just a chain hotel, but this one is a little special. Housed in the iconic Free Trade Hall it is an upscale hotel that offers its guests sophisticated rooms and luxury dining with a champagne lounge to wash the good food down with. Then you can relax in the high-end spa or swimming Pool if you want.
The Midland, Peter Street, Manchester – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
As long as you remember the price you paid for the room you should have a pretty great time in this hotel. With its upscale rooms and suites and polished restaurants and a spa, it does have a lot to offer. If you plan to visit the centre of Manchester this is the most perfect location you could choose to stay in.
Hotel Football, Stretford, Manchester – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
If you ask me this hotel scores a home-goal with its low prices as it really is surprisingly cheap given its location and upmarket football theme. With airy rooms, casual dining and stadium views this is the perfect hotel for anyone hoping to watch a big game or maybe just take in a stadium tour.

The Lowry Hotel, Dearmans Plaza, Salford – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
With its beautiful river views, innovative dining and a trendy bar this is one hotel you will feel like a million pounds in. Do be aware that it is in a vibrant and often nosy part of the centre so you might want to stay here during the week rather than the weekends. But I do think it’s well worth its asking price.
Motel One, London Road, Manchester – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
With is contemporary rooms and eclectic bar offering breakfast and snacks, this is a modern hotel that tries to be all hip and happening but does fall a little short of that. But I do still think you get your money’s with and if you plan to watch a Man-U game it is just a short bus ride away from the stadium.
Village Hotel Manchester Bury, Waterfold Business Park, Bury – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
Not only is does this hotel offer great value for money it is also in a good location overall for sightseeing, recreation and getting around the Greater Manchester area. Its large indoor swimming pool makes it worth a stay in on its own, especially off-seasons as you will often have it all to yourself.
Velvet Hotel & Bar, Canal Street, Manchester – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
If you want to take in the sights and sounds of Manchester’s vibrant LGBT neighbourhood you should stay here for the night at least. With lots of local places to enjoy as well as its own buzzing restaurant, lively bar & free breakfast bar for you to enjoy and all of it at an affordable price.

Staycity Aparthotels – Manchester Piccadilly, Piccadilly, Manchester – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
If you plan to visit Greater Manchester on business this is probably the best hotel to stay in. With is minimalist rooms and contemporary look and feel it is surprisingly trendy, but yet with a serious business place undertone. With a trendy cafe, gym & lots of meeting rooms, this is one hotel that takes care of you while you take care of business.
Staybridge Suites Manchester, Piccadilly, Manchester – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
This is another impressive hotel aimed at people visiting the area on business, but I think it offers a little more than the Staycity Aparthotel as it looks much more stylish and modern. With its streamlined apartments, it isn’t the best rooms in the area, but it does have a pretty impressive business centre that is perfect for meetings.
