Top 10 Recipes and Snacks to Make With Bacon

I am happy to tell you that while I do like bacon I don’t rate it as high up the food ladder as most other people do. I mean, it does taste great for sure, but can it really live up to its claim that everything is better with bacon in it? If any of these foods mentioned below makes you drool or feel hungry it means bacon has won. So let the test begin…

What could be better than a normal hot dog? What about a bacon wrapped one? Well, this is one thing I will definitely be trying, in fact, the only thing that surprises me about this is why I haven’t tried it already? Have I been leading a bacon sheltered life?

Really quick and easy to make, these bacon pancakes look rather tasty. But then again I like my pancakes to be sweet, not sour. But then again meat and pancake tastes great when it is the toad in the hole, so maybe this will work well. Making guide can be found by clicking on the image.

This is probably one of the healthiest recipes you will find in this top 10. With some crunchy green bean stalks and, of course, some bacon wrapped around it, they would be perfect for some summer BBQ snacks.

If you don’t fancy some scallops with spicy cilantro mayonnaise you are reading the wrong post, or maybe entirely the wrong blog! Delicious, mouth-watering and generally rather tasty they look amazing, but it is a good job there is a making guide and recipe to follow and they are also rather complicated.

  1. Yes, Yes and YES! Just had the bacon wrapped tots with cheese and tabasco for Super Bowl…YUM! I’ve been craving them ever since! Here’s a weird one for ya…bacon dipped in Nutella..so devine! I want to be buried in these two ingredients!

  2. Haha, I don’t know it was a nice list with some funny ones like the pie which just sounded horrible 😉

  3. I do love bacon and have often said that the only reason I don’t go vegetarian is that I refuse to give up bacon, still your top 10 did not make me hungry or in any way crave bacon 😀 weird…. 😉

  4. I think I would have to go with the bacon wrapped scallops. The bacon twists are just a little too arrogant. 😉

  5. hello russell its dennis the vizsla dog hay bacon!!! now i am all hungry!!! i wil hav to see if i kan perswayd dada to fry me up sum bacon or at leest steel sum of his!!! ok bye

  6. Yes, generally 25-50% more expensive for organic over regular bacon, but worth it for the occasional purchase. Love the flavour, unsmoked, as the smoked is often a sprayed on flavour – yuk!

  7. You forgot bacon ice cream! About a year ago, my friends and I went on a three-week hike through the mountains of New Mexico, and all that we could talk about was how much we wanted to eat bacon, so we planned a bacon party for when we came home. There was bacon mac and cheese, smoked apple bacon-wrapped jalepenos stuffed with cream cheese, a bucket of reese’s melted on top of bacon (not sure who came up with that one), and homemade bacon ice cream. It was, needless to say, a very enjoyable event, although your bacon ideas would have made it that much better! 🙂

  9. Big event? Not Yet … but we had such a great time last year, we decided to make it an annual event. We enjoyed Bakon Vodka, appetizers, main dishes and desserts – all featuring bacon. No website, but look for a blog update in the middle of February!

  10. The egg and ham sandwich looks incredible! And soooooo full of fat. But I want it. I love bacon. It’s the most delicious food in existence. Bacon makes everything better. It’s magical!

  11. Bacon, is not my favorite although I do order bacon wrapped scallops when eating out on occasion, so that would be #1 for me. It was great fun reading all the other comments you received……there are some really strange things that people do with bacon!!

  12. My husband is one of those who ranks bacon on the top of the food chain…so much so that our 12 yr old bought him some bacon toothpaste! Lol! I showed his this post and he started drooling… Lol

  13. Liked your list and the photos/articles you found. Although interesting, I am not a fan of bacon. Once every year or two I will buy some organic bacon, and enjoy with sausage, egg and beans, or in a nice sandwich. The rest of the time it just doesn’t enter my mind to even buy any bacon.

  14. I had a Velvet Elvis cupcake from Carefree Patisserie in Des Moines Iowa. It was banana cake, chocolate filling, peanut butter frosting with a little chunk of bacon on top. Dang.

  15. I am hungry now..’coz it’s almost 7am in the morning.. 😀

I’ll make myself breakfast soon and something from your post is interesting but I’m not sure which one to choose..let me see those delicious pictures again…Lol..
thank you for the sharing..it gives me new ideas…

  16. Some of them looked intriguing to try like the salad cups and the bacon wrapped tater tots. If you’re looking for a unique take on bacon check out the Bacon Maple Bar at Voodoo Donuts in Portland, Oregon ). Although I’ve never tried it myself (love bacon, but maple, not so much), I’ve heard it’s one of their best sellers.

  17. Eat it quite often in fact. My father was German, and I grew up with German and Polish folks. I really like Polish sausage.

  18. While I seem to be in the minority here, as bacon is not my favorite. I’m a breakfast sausage woman. I do make bacon wrapped asparagus which is epic! Also scallops all though I usually end up feeding the bacon to my pup. haha! I know, I will probably get shot for that. But I am who I am. No apologies. 😉

  19. I’m hungry – but it’s lunchtime, so how much is my hunger related to the photos? …. I’m not adding bacon to anything …. Mmhm maybe a smidgen on my salad……

  20. The green bean bacon bundles are my favorite. I think I’d do them with asparagus though. Great blog post! 🙂

  21. Oh, swine, I’m at thine mercy ! (Not referring to you, Russell…you’re too pleasant a blogger, and photographer). Hope you have fun with this post…I’m retiring to the fridge to pull out some fresh Mahi-Mahi my fish guy dropped off yesterday. A super-hero battle in the making – Aqua Man vs. Miss Piggy. The pay-per-view would be offensively lucrative !
    Great top-10, again.
    Later…

  22. I personally make the green bean bundles and they’re SO good! I’ll have to try the bacon cups as a salad bowl soon:-) But yes this made me hungry for bacon AND everything taste better with bacon on it:-)

Which one did you like?
