We have already seen the ten largest libraries in the world and a small selection of just ten of the world’s craziest looking libraries. This list takes a look at ten of the strangest and most unusual mobile libraries from around the world…
10 – House Van Mobile Library
If a travelling minivan filled with books is not a strange enough sight to see, this person has made their mobile library up to be like a travelling house! (love the chimney on the top).
9 – Camel Mobile Library
It is not so much a question of one book or two from this travelling library, it is one lump or two!? I just hope there is a spare donkey for the returns.
8 – Floating Barge Library
I don’t expect you will get too many visitors to this library as it travels up and down the canals, but at least it is around if someone wants one.
7 – The Walking Library
While there isn’t the biggest of selections on the back of these people, it is still nice if you fancy reading a book on the go. I just hope they don’t get too many returns to walk home with.
6 – The Donkey Library
It seems I spoke too soon about a Donkey carrying the returns from the camel. While not a vast selection, this mobile library travels more miles than most book authors!
5 – Mobile Library Tank
If it could fire kindles out of its canon this might well be the best mobile library ever! But I am more worried the books might fall out of it rather than the ones it can fire at people.
4 – Mobile Library Chevy Van
This amazing 1949 Chevy is one of the most stylish mobile libraries I have ever seen. The van’s owner is 91 and still drives around schools delivering books.
3 – Mobile Library Train
The need to learn how to read is universal whatever language you are planning to read. That is why this mobile library train travels all over hard to reach places of Africa.
2 – Pedal-Powered Mobile Library
Books are not the lightest of things to carry around on the back of a tricycle trailer, so it’s no wonder there isn’t a vast selection.
1 – Mobile Library Truck
While all these mobile libraries you have seen so far are important to the people they visit, they all lack a decent variety of books. That is not a problem with this mobile truck that probably holds thousands of books.
