The largest casino in the United States, the WinStar World Casino and Hotel, stands very tall.

Located in Thackerville, Oklahoma, the casino is owned and operated by the Chickasaw Nation, the 13th most prominent tribe in the US.

The casino opened in 2004 and has since undergone notable expansion projects. Over the years, new hotel towers and a new casino have been added, positioning the facility as the largest casino in the country.

WinStar World Casino occupies 370 square feet of gaming space, featuring over 8,600 electronic games, 100 table games and a 55-table poker room.

Beyond the vast casino, the venue has other attractions, including two 18-hole golf courses and an events centre featuring some of the world’s most prominent entertainers.

Mohegan Sun

Boasting a gaming space covering 364,000 square feet, the famous Mohegan Sun checks in at No. 2 on our list of most prominent casinos in the United States.

Operated by Connecticut’s Mohegan Tribe and situated in Uncasville, CT, the Mohegan Sun has been around since October 1996 and is a proper tourist destination with numerous dining and entertainment spots to go along with the casino options.

The Mohegan Sun Arena is also located within the complex, the home ground of the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun.

There are 280 table games available, plus more than 5000 slot machines. Other top attractions include the 114-table poker room and the 2,266 Hotel rooms within the property.

With two of the largest casinos in the US located in Connecticut, it is easy to see why the state has such a rich gambling culture.

Riverwind Casino

Riverwind Casino covers 219,000 square feet and has more than 2,500 slot machines. The casino also has 20 gaming tables and 17 poker tables.

It is situated in Norman, Oklahoma, and owned by OKC’s Chickasaw Nation- the same tribe that operates the WinStar World Casino and Resort.

The casino was opened in 2006, with a hotel added upon expansion in 2009.

Built in 2004, it has around 5,000 slot machines and 200 table games.

If you are a high-roller, you can check out the special 13,000-square-foot expansion specifically dedicated to customers with the Big Bucks, where you can play for as much as $1,000.

The facility also includes three hotel towers, restaurants, nightclubs and many other top dining, hospitality and entertainment stops.

Yaamava Resort and Casino at San Manuel

With about 7000 games available, the Yaamava Resort and Casino has more slot games than any other casino on the West Coast.

The available table games number over 100, all located within an impressive 290,000 square-feet gaming space

Built-in 1986 originally as the San Manuel Indian Bingo, it has since metamorphosed into one of the largest casinos in California. Located in Highland, CA, the Yaamava Resort and Casino is operated by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.

Encore Boston Harbor

On a list dominated by tribal casinos, the Encore Boston Harbor is a scarce exception.

Often dubbed the most significant private single-phase construction project in the history of Massachusetts, this impressive structure hosts more than 2,500 slot machines, 230 table games, and an additional 74 poker tables.

Opened in 2019, the Encore Boston Harbor has two floors, with the first housing the slots and the second hosting the table games and high-limit rooms.

The total gaming space spans 210,000 square feet.
