Top 10 Creative and Unusual Cake Pops

Until recently I have been walking around with my eyes closed to the world. But the good news is now they are very widely open! But this isn’t a religious thing, it is a cake thing! You see I had never heard of a “cake pop” before, but the other day there was a promotion on a “Sweet Treats Cake Pop Maker” in our local supermarket. Well for just a few pounds it was worth a go! So to see what I can make with this little “cake ball” cooker I have decided to find out just what is…

  5. J.A. Robinson Thank you for visiting my blog and checking out my sons Lego party. We had such a great time and your kind words made my day!

  6. Thank you so much for including my Lego party cake pops in your blog! You are so kind. We had such a blast with this theme. I loved seeing some of the other pops you included as well.

  7. breakfast on a stick sure does sound good to me.My local baker just started doing a all day breakfast sausage roll! With egg, bacon, sausage and mushrooms in it! To be honest that tasted great!

  8. I just saw breakfast on a stick at the store. Suasgae and pancake that looked like a corn dog. I guess it reduces dishes to be done. Helps with the kid mess too.

  9. lol…never saw these before…it never ceases to amaze me the things people come up with…such artistic talent in making these… 🙂

  10. Ahh! I love the mushrooms one! And the wolf ones immediately reminded me of my dog lol But back on the subject, I might have to tell my bf to take me to get some cake pops. :p

  11. That would be cool. Maybe you could do a “top ten cat inspired sweets” post – though I’m afraid at least one would contain bacon!

  12. Cool, I look forward to it. did you see my cake? I wasn’t too happy with it, despite it tasting pretty good.
I have seen these cake pop makers before, but this post makes me want to go and get one to try it out.

  13. wow… I’ve made cake pops with my daughter but they looked nothing like these. Love them all, but I’m guessing the watermelon ones would taste the most delicious (chocolate chips seeds!)

  14. Gotta love the wolves. And you are trying to be creative. Can’t it to see what you make? Please, you are going to show us aren’t you?

  15. I learned about cake pops a couple of years ago – a way to have a bit of cake without overdoing it. These show how much fun you can have with just a bit of cake shaped like a ball – only as limited as one’s imagination. Always enjoy Legos, but I am not all that familiar with Angry Birds -I’ve seen all kinds of things in their shapes but I am definitely out of the loop when it comes to knowing just what they are. Maybe my age is showing.

  16. Oh my gosh you have no idea…. The only reason I went home without helping her clean up was because I was lucky to not fall asleep standing up and my boyfriend (now husband) was getting up for work in like 20 minutes and he would have FREAKED OUT if I wasn’t there.

There was one VERY hilarious incident with blue sprinkles and white chocolate… I still chuckle about it and this was 2 years ago I think..

  17. Ahh-mazing! I’ve never attempted cake pops as they always seemed too fiddly. Though I do follow bakerella and love seeing all the beauties she makes! Maybe I need a cake pop maker? Let us know how it works:)

  18. MY friend/co-worker was making some for a baby shower. She couldn’t start making them until after we got off work, which was at 9:30 at night. And at the time they didn’t have any cool pans to bake them in (or she just didn’t have a pan) and she had to make the balls herself and refrigerate them so they would stick. I went over there at like 11 and we were up all night making cake pops and cupcakes. We also had to melt the chocolate that we put on them ourselves and use food coloring in the icing. And we were also goofing off the entire time.

  19. You definitely hit the smile-maker button on this one! Gotta love the creativity and talent behind these cake pops. The Muppets, Mr. Potato Head and the watermelons were my favourites.

  20. This is the first I ever heard of cake pops. Esthetically I like the watermelon ones but for taste, chocolate turkey would please me more..

  21. I didn’t like the wolf ones and the angry birds ones. I liked the rest. Except for the candy corn on the turkeys. Haha. I attempted to make some of these one time….. Didn’t end well…. Could be cause it was like 3 in the morning.

  22. eeep! these are so cool! The mario mushrooms, the watermelon and the golden snitches are my favourite! 🙂 I find it really hard to decorate cake pops though! :S

Which one did you like?
