10 – Steel Force in Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, United States – Total Length: 5,600 ft (1,700 m)

Since it opened in 1997 this ride has made it into every top ten list of peoples top 10 steel coasters in the world, but a lot of it will be down to peoples nostalgia for the ride rather than the quality of ride itself that I can tell you is pretty bone shaking.

This 2 hill lift coaster opened way back in 1998 and at the time cost only 10 million USD. These days that money wouldn’t pay for the design bill for many of the other coasters on this list.

This hypercoaster is one of the slowest in the world and only reaches a top speed of 80 MPH. But then again this does help to make the ride time of 2 minutes, 43 seconds a little smoother for its riders.

It might look like a wooden coaster but this is a steel coaster that has been open since 2001 and has the claim to fame of being one of the park’s original rides when it first opened!

Once called the “F1 Coaster” it subjects its riders to a blackout-inducing 4.8 g for well over a minute and a half reaching a top speed of 150 MPH (240 KPH). It’s so fast in fact that all riders are required to wear protective glasses!

Not only very long it is also the 2nd tallest and fastest Giga Coaster in the world making it very popular. So it’s a good job it has multiple trains that can max out at 1,470 riders per hour!

Named of course after Mount Fuji this is the only coaster on this list that has a separate entrance fee and a maximum rider age of 62 years old! Who said you are never too old to enjoy coasters!?!

Having been on this ride myself I can tell you there really isn’t much queuing time at all thanks to its super-long cars that can carry up to 38 riders, that’s 78 riders every 5 minutes!

1 – Steel Dragon 2000 in Nagashima Spa Land, Japan – Total Length: 8,133 ft (2,479 m)

With its 2 tunnels and incredible length, you could forgive for this ride using more steel than any other coaster in the world. But it also has extra steel for earthquake protection to keep both the ride and riders safe even in the event of a natural disaster.
