In a small patch of Cumbrian woodland, there are some rather unusual animals and fauna. These woolly flora and fauna art pieces are not there to profile keeping woodland animals warm but to raise the profile of crafting wool…
10 – Bat
Hanging out in the woods looking for woollen creatures is fun, but hanging upside down like a woollen bat is much more fun.
9 – Woodland Flowers
Flowers always stick out on a woodland floor with all the leaves and twigs being brown, but a bright yellow flower made from wool sticks out like a sore thumb!
8 – Butterflies
This reminds me a lot of the image in my post “Animal Swarms on Trees” In fact, if I had to guess I would say they have indeed tried to replicate it!
7 – Owl
This is not the only one in this post, but this little woolly chap was too cute not to include. You might notice how some of these look almost real!

6 – Bees
Not only some busy bees but also some woollen flowers on the branches as well. I wonder if the sting the dangle from is wool!?
5 – Owls
These 3 little snow owls look rather cold sat up on the branch. I am sure they will be quite warm being made from wool.
4 – Squirrel
This squirrel is one of the animals that looks amazingly realistic. I am sure if he was real he would be chucking acorns at the people below.
3 – Poppies
I always thought poppies grew on the ground, not in trees. But not in this woods, they seem to grow almost everywhere!

2 – Birds & Nest
Not only 2 bird, but 3 baby birds, a nest and a worm! They might be made from nothing by wool, but the level of detail is extraordinary!
1 – Mushrooms
The joy of finding a brightly colour mushroom is something every child should experience at least once. But I have yet to feel the joy of discovering a woollen one.
