Ten Amazing Chandeliers Made From Recycled Things

I’m always want to own chandelier, but I am too tall to have one in the house and besides they cost a lot of money! Well…that last part is not really a problem because I could always make my own chandelier with recycles things, much like these clever people have done…

The chandeliers these days can be made of almost anything, you can keep your crystal pendants, these days it is all about recycling, and upcycling. And the idea of using old Biro pens to make an alternative, but rather an amazing chandelier really is a good one.

What better way to use up all those old cassette tapes (ask your parents if you don’t know what one is) because a chandelier made out of them looks rather amazing if you ask me.

This isn’t so much upcycling, more design chandelier, but if you ask me it is nothing short of amazing, sure it is just laser cut with black and transparent acrylic, but it still looks cool!

This rather amazing, and a very alternative chandelier is made from old Epson ink cartridges, sadly there was only ever one ever made, but it might well be worth trying to copy it because I think it is incredible.

It doesn’t matter how ‘alternative’ you think your own chandelier might be, it will never get as nerdy as this one made entirely from Magic: The Gathering playing cards! It might well be the World’s Nerdiest Chandelier, but it also is one of the best looking.

Over in Portland, Oregon someone has made this rather scary looking chandelier that is just about as ‘alternative’ as you will ever get. But it also has to be said that there is also something strangely nostalgic about it.

Welcome to the after party celebrations, because this rather amazing and very alternative chandelier is made from over 1000 used party poppers! Given that we would all normally throw them away, this is something very beautiful indeed.

I love bananas and of course, given that they are the major brand of bananas I eat plenty of  Chiquita ones, and if ever there was a fantastic use of the cardboard cartons you get with them then this is right up there, it doesn’t just look great it looks almost beautiful!

It has to be said that there is something strangely amazing about this one. Maybe it is a large size or the original, older chandelier peeking out of the middle, or maybe it is just great recycling and would make any fantastic talking point in any home.

When Kevin Champeny makes an alternative chandelier he does it in truly epic style as this is in fact made from over 3000 hands cast acrylic Gummi Bears! I don’t know about you, but for this was a clear winner for me and nothing short of a win on all counts.
