So you have decided it is time to make good use of that attic space by getting a loft conversion done. While most people will turn it into a spare bedroom there are other things you can do with it. Here are ten ideas you can do with that new found space and none of them are bedrooms…
Reading Room
You don’t even need a large window space to have a well-lit reading room. By using light in the best way it can be a real sanctuary for all the book worms out there. All you really need is some light and a chair, or even some bean bags to rest upon.
Play Room
Sometimes kids just need some space to play in and a loft conversion can be a perfect solution to that. Also, they can make all the noise they want as it is at the top of the house and should dampen a lot of it out. To some kids, it’s their own little space to relax in especially those who need a little quiet time.
Home Cinema
You don’t need a massive attic space in which to do this idea, all you really need is a TV as big as you can, a cheap surround sound system and a few seats. You could even use bean bags to just lay aginst and relax. As long as it is dark so you can take the whole screen in, it should feel quite immersive.
Walk-in Wardrobe
If you have a lot of clothes or shoes you might want to turn that new space into a giant walk-in wardrobe. If you like to rotate your wardrobes clothes this could be a way to store all the clothes that are off-season and a great space to store all those shoes you have collected.

Craft Room
If you enjoy sowing or knitting you might want to turn the loft into a craft room to house all the materials and things you use. Maybe it could be a sewing room or an arts and crafts room, whatever you do to unwind, it could be the perfect space to do it in.
Office
More and more people are working from home these days, so a loft conversion could easily become a home office with all the space and quietness you need to stay focused. I have done this myself and let me tell you, it was the best decision I ever made.
Book Room
If you collect and read a lot of books why not turn your loft into a giant book room! You could also have a small space to read in (like the reading room idea) or you could use every inch of it to house your book collection and turn it into a home library.
Game Room
It’s not going to be easy to get a pool table into your loft space, but you could get a console and some games up there! If you like some peace and quiet when you are gaming this could be the perfect little space in which to get into the zone. Or it could also be a pool or snooker room!

Spare Bathroom
Do you find yourself waiting for the toilet all the time or wish you had a bath instead of a shower? Maybe a professionally done loft conversion is the answer. It will require extra work to get all the plumbing needed into that space, but it could be worth it, especially if you have a large family.
Home Gym
Why spend money going to the gym when you could use your new space as a home gym! Even if you don’t have that much room you could put down a yoga mat and some weights. It doesn’t have to be a full gym, just somewhere for you to exercise in and stretch out before and afterwards.
