Ten Pictures of Animals Riding in Vehicles You Might Not Expect

My dog is a funny old sausage. He hates being in the car and will huff and whine the whole journey. But he always gets in the car quite happily because he knows it is walkies time. So do other animals like or dislike being in vehicles? It is time to find out as I bring you…

10 – It is what convertibles were made for!

While it might look a little uncomfortable for the animal, in India cows are treated with the utmost respect and what you see here is a person from a small town taking an ox/cow home from the market to bring some prosperity to the village! Strange but true.

Sheep travailing in a car

9 – “Take me to the wool shop, I need to make a deposit.”

Poor David Palme here rescued this rather heavy 22-stone sheep from bad weather and despite asking local farms and sheep holders no-one said they were missing him, but by then the sheep had already made a home for its self. Only here in Wales could this happen.

8 – “Let’s swing by the pet shop, I saw they have mice and fancy some takeaway food.”

When you are Jack Thullen you drive a taxi by night and raise injured owls by day, and that is who this is, I couldn’t find the name of the owl but it seems to not want to tip the driver.

Rabbit travailing in a car

7 – “I smell someone selling carrot 3 miles due North, let’s roll out!”

I have done this myself when I went to get “Floppy” (my pet rabbit) I couldn’t resist letting him out of the box in the car and he was as good as gold. And my own Floppy is still going strong.

6 –  “Are we there yet?…Are we there yet?….Are we there yet?…Are we there yet?”

Despite looking cute, an Emu is one dangerous bird, but somehow local police in Devon managed to coax it into the rear of the police car but then couldn’t get in themselves until the owner was found. The owner was found and the bird safely returned home.

Camel travailing in a car

5 – “Get in fool, we’re going shopping!”

This might look a little cruel, but apparently, camels will sit down almost flat quite happily making the job of transporting them from stables to tourist desert rides quite easy!

Horse travailing in a car

4 – “Why should I waste horsepower when you have a spare seat?!?”

In Romania and other Baltic countries, you will, in fact, see this quite often as people with no money to buy a horse-box transport their much-loved animals to and from horse shows.

Pig travailing in a car

3 – “Let’s get to the doctors quick, this rash is sore and I need onikment!”

This is Felix and he has been trained to provide emotional therapy for the elderly and for handicapped children, contact with the pig stimulates curiosity, activity, and alertness.

2 – “Quick! Take me to the airport and make it snappy!”

Police officers in The USA were stunned to discover 6ft snapper nestling the rear window after pulling over a car for speeding! Better than a yappy lap dog in the back I suppose.

Seal travailing in a car

1 –  “Don’t mind me, just chilling out, got any dance music?”

While being rescued in a storm this young seal pup decided he wasn’t going to be caught that easy and climbed out of the back of the rescue vehicle and somehow ended up on the dashboard! Needless to say, he was safely returned to the wild once the storm was over.
