These are ten incredible places you should visit around the globe. If you are visiting stateside you might need Jeep and SUV rental in USA, so I highly recommend carngo.com for all your vehicle hire needs. Now we have our travel sorted, let’s get on with the list…
Italy
Italy is rich in history and art. It also has one of the best cuisines in the world. Add stunning views, incredible hiking, wine, and charming villages to the mix. There is something for everyone, from Venice to Florence to the Amalfi Coast and the Dolomites.
Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu is magical – a remote, crumbling capital perched on a mountain in Peru’s Andes. It was built by an ancient civilization. We have only seen this place once, one of our favourite places. Machu Picchu is easily accessible for everyone, whether you’re looking to hike the Inca Trail for four days or take a scenic train ride.
The Himalayas
The highest mountains in the world… what more can we say? You can visit the Himalayas from Nepal, Bhutan, and India, as well as Pakistan, Pakistan, and Tibet. These mountains can be reached by foot, helicopters, yaks, cars, airplanes and even planes. They are breathtaking in many ways. One of our most memorable travel experiences was trekking to Everest Base Camp, Nepal.
African Safari
An African Safari is a thrilling adventure. There are many options. Going to the zoo is a new experience.
The South Island of New Zealand
We are big fans of New Zealand. It’s no secret. The New Zealand South Island is perfect for you if you love stunning scenery, scenic car rides, and wine tasting. Every corner offers a stunning view…this place is truly unique.
Kyoto, Japan
Kyoto is the cultural capital of Japan and has many beautiful temples. You can explore a completely different world with the Japanese, among the friendliest and most interesting people we have met on our travels. Kyoto is great to visit in spring, when cherry blossoms bloom, or later in autumn when the Japanese maples turn yellow-orange and red. Enjoy sushi and sake while there, and look for the mysterious geisha. It is full of cultural experiences and great food.
Bhutan
Bhutan, Land of the Thunder Dragon. Is there a country that has a catchier phrase than Bhutan?
Bhutan sounds exotic and mystical. It is almost like another world. It does feel that way. This tiny country, nestled between the Himalayas, is a delight to visit. Go to Bhutan now, before it is modernized. It’s a cultural and visual feast. You will have one of the most memorable travel experiences of your lifetime. Explore the dzongs, take the Himalayas, taste cheese and chilies, and learn about Buddhism.
Siem Reap (Cambodia)
This is the place for you if temples and ruins appeal to you. When thinking of Siem Reap, most people only think about Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is only the beginning. Like Bagan, the area around Siem Reap is home to many temples.
Bayon is home to the 216 smiling faces of Jayavarman VII, who are giant-carved and sculpted. Ta Prohm is home to gigantic trees that spread their roots across crumbling walls. Children will love exploring the temples of Siem Reap, which is like Indiana Jones. The town of Siem Reap also has great, inexpensive restaurants and bars. You can go temple hopping in the morning and bar hopping at night. Siem Reap is becoming “over-crowded” and “over-touristy.” See it now, before it gets too busy.
Egypt
Egypt is a remarkable destination for travellers. You may have dreamed of visiting the pyramids at Giza as a child. You can see the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel and the intricately-decorated tombs of the Valley of the Kings. In 10 days you can see the best of Egypt. This is a trip that you will remember for years.
The Great American Road Trip
There’s so much to see in the 48 contiguous states. What better way to discover this country than driving? It’s a great adventure to travel from coast to coast and see the top sights of the United States.
