College is tough and at some point along the way, you’re going to fumble. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with all the coursework, but other times we procrastinate and it finally catches up with us. Oftentimes, heated arguments can be avoided if you don’t show opposition to their political affiliations, and this way, a healthy relationship can be maintained. Actually, professors tend to be super helpful when you need something. A lot of students don’t realize that professors hold the power to allow you to pick up extra credit or extend a deadline if you have a legitimate reason for failing.

In the rare circumstance where your professor can’t help you, speak to your academic adviser. They’ll be able to discuss the options with you. For instance, you may not want to drop a class because you are outside the deadline for changing and you’ll have to pay a ton of money or suffer a bad grade. Your adviser is in the best position to help you through this.

If you decide not to stick out your course and drop it instead, then use it as a lesson to inform your future behaviour. There’s nothing worse than making the same mistake over and over again, so if you drop your course, make sure you promise yourself never to let yourself get into this position again.
