Ten Recipes and Designs for Food Shaped Like an Octopus

Seafood is something that I enjoy eating as much as I can. From all sorts of fish, crabs, mussels and prawns I have tried them all. But one sea creature that I have not tried yet is an Octopus, but I have not tried it, because I don’t like the thought of eating it! But there are some alternative kinds of octopus I would love to try, and here are the very best of them…

What better way to make a healthy fruit snack a little more appealing than to shape it into an octopus! With an apple for a head and grapes used for tentacles, it is a joy to see.

The best bit about this tasty looking octopus Bento box meal isn’t the tasty looking octopus made from an egg, or the heart-shaped strawberries, but rather the fish’N’chips fish-shaped crisps being used to great effect for the first time in a lunch box!!!

What better way to eat an octopus than with a nice cold glass of coke? And now with these Coolamari ice-cube trays, that dream is a reality! But seriously it does make for a cool looking ice cube, but could also be used to make some chocolate ones as well!

This octopus is in fact a pie crust that is sat over a chicken pie! But lets face it, they could be sat over the top of anything and still be cool. Soup, hot-pot, stew, you name it, it would look great. And with a nice making guide in the link they are well worth a go indeed.

Made by Karen Portaleo of Highland Bakery this is very, very impressive cake work indeed, and weighing in at over 200 pounds it is definitely the world’s largest octopus shaped food. But I have not made it number 1 because it is just too much, most of us could only dream of having cake making skills this good, but that still doesn’t stop it be jaw dropping good.

With a simple half of a coloured pepper and then some spare parts cut into shape and placed in a dip (French onion dip used above) this is not only great to look at but also healthy, fun and simple to make with a nice making guide to be found in the link.

These are just darn right impressive! With a nice bit of soup in a tasty bread bun these are sure to make most people smile, myself included!

Using simple hot-dog sausages that have been cooked and then cut into shape, these fun party/BBQ snacks are a joy to see. There is no making guide or recipe in the link, but that is because you don’t need it. You just a tin of hotdogs and a knife to make 4 cuts.
