Ten of the Very Best Examples of Makankosappo

Now and again I like to bring something a little more unusual to the table for us all to take a look at and this is one of those posts. It is all about the art of Makankosappo. It literally “Magic Penetrating Killing Ray” and is basically an Internet meme which started with Japanese schoolgirls photographing themselves apparently using, and being affected by, the special attack of the same name in the popular Dragon Ball franchise. I know it sounds weird, but I hope you will find it as amazing as I do as I bring you…

In this classic Makankosappo, it is nothing more than great timing and the perfect capture of anger in the wave attack. It looks angry and is still until today one of the best examples of this art form. It was imaged this good that made the art form go viral Worldwide.

6 – Wave Attack

What makes this one so amazing is what they have done with the sand! So not only does it look like the people have been affected by the energy wave, but the very ground itself looks like it has been affected, great set-up and perfect timing make this great art indeed.

5 – Uppercut!

This “uppercut punch” style is called a Shoryuken and is inspired by Ken from Street Fighter fame. One of the hardest to make it look good and this image is a great example of it. Must have taken ages to get this one just right.

4 – The Street Fighters

In this classic form of Makankosappo called Hadoukening it is a single invisible engender shot on a single person and this one is the best of the best, perfect timing and with the perfect backdrop.

3 – The Dark side of Hadoukening

The nerd in me loved this and thought it was a fantastic example of Makankosappo. Just because it isn’t in the form of an energy “wave” doesn’t mean it doesn’t look incredible.

2 – Super Gran!

This amazing image goes to show that you are never too old to take part in this form or art because even if you can’t mimic being hit by the invisible energy wave you can mimic doing it and the fun-loving lady got it just right.

I just love the anger in this image, and the timing of all 8 making it look just right is amazing and must have taken ages to get right and is well deserving of the top spot.
