Ten Ways You Might Place a Bet on Sports in the Future

With all the betting shops closing down and online casino sites dropping like flies the future of online betting is an uncertain one. So today I thought we would take a look at ten ways you might please a bet on sports or make a deposit at an online casino in the not so distant future…

VR - Virtual Reality

VR – Virtual Reality

There are lots of VR casino apps and games already but not many that let you play with real cash. Could we one day see all online casinos only exist in virtual reality? If Facebook thinks it will (because they own Oculus VR) who I am to argue otherwise!?

Biochips

Biochips

If you think this sounds like science fiction you might want to think again because people have already installed bionic chips in their bodies to activate various pieces of technology. So a chip with all your credit details on it might not be too far off at all!

Casino Ubers

With so many people using Uber these days and Uber themselves testing driverless vehicles could we one day see a vehicle that takes you to where you want to go just as long as you gamble along the way!? It’s not so hard to imagine and could make that morning commute a lot more fun!

AR Gambling

AR Gambling

Unlike VR, AR (Augmented Reality) allows you to interact and see the real world meaning you could one day be walking down the street while placing a bet on a live sports game, or even playing some slots while pretending to work. The possibilities with AR are almost endless and its a form of technology that is growing even faster than VR!

Social Media

Social Media

WeChat is a big social media app in China that lets people send and receive money. You just know Twitter and Facebook are working on something very similar and I would imagine we will one day be able to place a bet on a game just by clicking on a paid “like” button.

Let’s face it. It’s inevitable that one day you will be able to tell your Amazon Alexa or Google Home to place a bet on a sports game for you. These home assistants can already do a lot of amazing things and they evolve every day so I guess this method of placing a bet is only a matter of time!

Smart TV

Smart TV

While most modern Smart TV’s can do a lot they can’t place a bet or let you gamble online yet. While you could always cast your smartphone or tablet to the TV and gamble that way I am talking about an app built into the TV, or even better a “Gamble Now” button on the remote! If you think that sounds silly and a waste of time just tell that to someone with a 3D tv!

Interactive Sports Bars

Interactive Sports Bars

If you enjoy watching the game at a local sports bar you might like the idea of interactive tabletops and bar surfaces that would let you throw a bet on at the flick of a finger! Interactive touch screens are commonplace now, so it’s not so hard to image, especially as there are various slot games built into tables these days.

Fingerprint or Iris Scan

Fingerprint or Iris Scan

This one isn’t hard to imagine at all! Your phone can already do these things with little effort so a betting terminal that has your iris scan or fingerprint linked to a bank account isn’t a stretch of the imagination at all. In fact, if you count unlocking your smartphone to play casino apps now this technology is already here! You just can’t pay for a bet or add money to your account with it yet.

No Betting At all!
No Betting At all!

No Betting At all!

I have left this one for last because its something to think about. With all the various bans on gambling marketing and even limitations put on betting shops and online casinos could the future really bet…bet-less? While there are still a lot of us who like a flutter and a gamble now and again our numbers are indeed dwindling. So maybe a future with no betting or gambling at all really isn’t that hard to imagine!
