Ten of the Very Best Hotels in Hampshire, England

With towns and cities like Winchester, Southampton and Portsmouth within its boundaries Hampshire is, of course, a top tourist destination. So it goes without saying that there are a lot of hotels in this area of England and I have stayed in quite a lot of them which means I am more than qualified to make this list of just ten of the best hotels in Hampshire. but do be aware that this list is based on my own personal experiences…

If you plan a visit to Brockenhurst you might want to stay in this high-end hotel (and high priced) with its Thai-style spa, Thai restaurant and of course very refined rooms. This is the perfect weekend retreat for those looking to unwind and relax.

While still quite pricy I think this hotel does offer great value for money. Set in a refined 18th-century Georgian manor house on 315 landscaped acres it offers both fine dining & clay pigeon shooting for those who are interested in it.

If you plan to do some walking around the New Forest you might want to stay here for a night or two. It offers all the luxury and country-chic many of the other hotels on this list do, but it does it for half the price and that makes it well worth a stay in my books.

Despite its name, this country-chic hotel isn’t anywhere near a cliff, but it is very much worth a stay. Located just a short drive from Ashurst New Forest train station it has a rather classy restaurant that mostly serves produce grown in the on-site garden.

This is one of those hotels that are perfect for both business stays and personal stays, but yet its prices are so low you will feel bad paying so little once the bill comes! Tucked inside a stately 19th-century mansion and its converted stables it offers elegant rooms and high-end dining which is located in a conservatory.

As stay in this quaint bed & breakfast is like a night in your own home and will feel just as warm and inviting. There are lots of casual bed-and-breakfast’s in this area, but this is one of the best with a fantastic price to match.
