Out there somewhere today, lots of people have been tricked, pranked and generally feeling some real mistrust issues. So I thought I would offer something a little bit more truthful. Have you seen something today that you thought might not be real? (Most probably) well, I am about to bust 10 of the most viral April fools products that might look amazing but are all totally fake. But it is Tuesday you cry, this is not the regular art post! Well yes it is, this is the world of fake producing digital art…
10 – Smart Food
While it is no secret that Nokia did indeed once make various other electronic devices (Microwaves included) this is not real, and it just a digital knock up of what it might look like. But I think the likelihood of this becoming real is quite high! (Well maybe one day anyway)
9 – Yeast Lips!
Don’t worry, this is not the next step of Marmite to overtake the world, this is nothing more than a digital prank. But out of all of the items I came across I think this is the most likely to be made into a real thing because some people really do love Marmite that much! (who remembers the Marmite toothpaste in my post “Top 10 Most Unusual Toothpastes” eh? Told you! People love the stuff that much!
8 – Squeezable Bacon
With a thousand comments of general disgust and contempt comes this bacon idea in a tube! Well here is a news flash that most people should have worked out, it is a fake! A good idea for bacon lover’s I am sure, but still nothing more than a fake.
7 – Upper Class Strollers
You would be stunned how many people come to my post “Top 10 Most Amazing Baby Prams and Buggies” under the search term “How much the BMW Stroller?” This was made as an April fools joke over 5 years ago and it is still going strong! People just seem to instantly fall for it, so maybe there is a small chance it might become a real item.

6 – Pop-up Pranker
Out of all of them, it is this Aliens themed pop-out can monster that I wish was real the most. Not just good for an April fools pranks, but also a good gift idea for fans of the show like myself and many others! I can’t be the only one who would definitely buy this.
5 – 3 Dough
I really did think this was a real product, after all, why not!? You can buy 3D printers that print in plastic, metals and even sugar, so why not play dough? Well, I thought it might have been real anyway, but sadly it is once again just digital manipulation art, but a good one.
4 – Folk Star Heroes
Back in the year 2000 odd games firms were making everything “Hero” related. From Guitar hero to my personal favourite DJ Hero so it was not too hard to believe that some random games firm might well make this. But it was just a joke product, but one that back in its time stood a chance of selling millions!
3 – Hungry for Pranks
In one of the best ideas ever to come from the mind of a prankster, is this Hungry hippos i-pad accessory! Not only does it look like it is a real thing, but I wish it was! Once again it is just an April fools joke from the masters of fake “Think Geek.”

2 – USB Test
Shame on think geek for this one, as this simple April fools joke went totally out of control and was (and still is) featured on various top 10 best gadgets for mums to be! But it is nothing more than a fake. But then again isn’t an April fools joke that everyone believes the best kind?! Well maybe not when it comes to the serious matter of pregnancy.
1 – Angry Plans
A lot of us hoped, and indeed believed that these amazing Angry bird planes were real, but sadly not. They are just digital artworks made by the artist Jomni. But it was these images that fooled millions of people into believing they were real in fact tourist operators had phones calls from thousands of people wanting to book seats on it! Shame really, because I would have loved to have seen it in real life.
