Top 10 Creative Things to do With Drinking Straws

The moment the liquid touches my lips after passing through the plastic is the moment my mind takes me back to lazy summers having picnics with ex-girlfriends, party’s and memories of my mum offering my friends and me a glass of juice after playing football. But I have been wondering if people do anything else with plastic straws other than drink with them, and it seems people use them for all sort of things…

  3. I LOVE the lamp, tho I’d be compulsive with the colors, and have to do them in patterns of something. Can you imagine a lamp all in blues and greens? Seeing that is making me twitchy and wanting to make one…even though I have no place suitable for hanging it.

  4. I have tried the de-steming strawberries idea and while it did work it was not as easy to do it as I would have liked. Seems plastic straws don’t work as well has the harder plastic types. (non-bendable)

  5. The only thing that I do with a straw besides drinking is to fold it into a heart. Jelly worms is a great idea! I’ll never look at a straw the same way again.

  6. I totally agree with you that the jelly worms are #1. I will be making them over the summer at some point because my whole family loves them. Thanks for the great find! 🙂

  7. Plane #3 is fantastic and thing of beauty, but I do love #10. I’m going to make it with the children in my class. They will love it. I have to agree with your choice for #1 though. How cool, making your own jelly worms. My children would love those too!

  8. I thought No.5 was a really clever idea to get rid of those stems… I always get sore under my fingernails de-steming strawberries! (Is it just me?) No.3 I thought was just awesome and No.1 has to be the overall winner, what a great idea! I mean, how would you make jelly straws otherwise!? 🙂

  9. I don’t think it would be comdfortable to sit on the drinking straw chair, they might not look it , but they ghave quite sharp edges. Also, you butt would look like bubble wrap…
Love the idea of the jelly worm factor though. 🙂

  10. Another great top ten list Russell. I had to grab that worm recipe–pure brilliance. Thanks for finding all these awesome ideas:))
