Top 10 Creative and Unusual Giant Cupcakes

As I have told you all before, once upon a time I had great plans to open up my own cupcake shop. But happily, I didn’t because the World of selling cupcakes is completely saturated with people much like myself that like to cook cakes, but can’t really do it very well. One cupcake I love the look of but have never made myself is the Giant one, so join me as I try to find out just how good people can make these mini giants…

10 – Miss Piggy says “YES!”

As a kid, I loved watching the Muppets and have very fond memories of them. So it will come as no surprise that this Kermit the from big top cupcake is in my top 10. Sadly no recipe or making guide in the link but still a fantastic design and very well made.

9 – Good Guy Colossal

Good guy indeed, this rather tasty looking big top cupcake does nothing else but look tasty and simple to replicate, sadly for us non-skilled bakers there is once again no making guide or recipe in the link, but you can, in fact, buy them!!!

Super Mario Mushroom Giant Cupcake

8 – 1UP

The nerd in me had to include this cool Super Mario inspired 1up big top cupcake, but it clearly says in the link that this was made via a packet mix! Which for me deserves an extra nod because it shows real creativity despite a low baking skill much like my own.

7 – Love is in the air!

What a simple but also rather delightful design this giant cupcake is. With its basic build underneath, but great use of love heart sweets and a chocolate door used to cover it I for one loved it. Sadly, once again there is no making guide or recipe in the link.

Minnie Mouse Giant Cupcake

6 – Don’t take the Mickey!

This Minnie Mouse big top cupcake brings an instant smile to the face, and while once again there is no making guide or recipe in the link it looks amazing!

Big Bad Wolf Giant Cupcake

5 – Little Read Riding hoods Party Cake

This rather scary, but highly creative giant cupcake shaped like a wolf is not only a great idea, but it also is not that hard to replicate. Which is handy because once again there is no recipe or making guide in the link. (why would you post these sort of cakes without a recipe of making guide?!? Pure madness)

4 – I find this Despicable!

Now this is what you call a touch of genius! This Minion big top cupcake inspired from the ‘Despicable me’ film is an absolute winner. I would have placed it much, much higher on this list if it came with a recipe of making guide, but sadly it doesn’t.

Cookie Dough Giant Cupcake

3 – Ice Ice Baby!

While this is not the classic style cupcake we see in all the others in this list it is one that made my mouth water the split second I saw it! It is called a “Cookie Dough Bowl” but the shape, mould and style are all giant cupcake owed! And best of all it comes with a simple to follow recipe and step by step making guide. (why can’t they all do that!?!)

Mars Bar Giant Cupcake

2 – A Giant Mars Cupcake a day helps you work, rest and play!
thewhoot.com.au/whoot-news/recipes/mars-bar-recipes

While the link doesn’t have a recipe or making guide it is one of the most amazing cupcakes I have ever seen, and just the fact that it is a giant cake makes it all the better.

1 – The Chocolate Finger Master Piece

Nothing else even comes close to just how good this is made with chocolate malt balls, and biscuit fingers (if only I had known about this during my post “Top 10 Cakes Made With Chocolate Fingers”) it is not only mouth-watering but also a master class on how to make giant cupcakes.

  4. These are some great cupcakes, they’re really mini edible works of art! Where did you find all of these? It would be awesome to credit the talented people that made these!!

  5. I do understand that, but from our viewing and reading perspective it is far better to post a recipe and making guide. Like magic really! Sometimes we like to know how they did the trick, and sometimes (like you have pointed out) it is best to keep the mystery of the magic.

  6. Professional cake artists post their cakes to show their skills and help promote their business; not necessarily to teach everyone how to do what we do!

  7. The Mars cake would be out of this world with some ice cream… We’ve got a ready supply of Mars bars at work so it’s time to get baking…

  8. Well okay, I guess I’ll have to believe you (except for when it comes to the Despicable Me cupcake, how can that not be delicious?) 😛

  9. I really am a nerdy kid at heart and I am happy to admit that. And sadly no Tardis one this time, but keep an eye out because I have a great Tardis top 10 coming real soon.

  10. You know to avoid this blog on Fridays! *LOL* I will be mixing up the Friday food post from now on, so you might find something perfect for Breakfast time.

  11. Try E-Bay or Amazon for the mars bars and I agree with you about the instructions, but when a cake looks as good as the Mars bar one, you can forgive the lack of them.

  12. Where the heck can you still get a Mars bar?!? These are amazing, but you’re right, we need instructions! Kermie is my fav, though. It may not be as clean looking as the fondant ones, but I hate fondant.

  13. The #2 Giant Mars Cupcake is my winner. It is too bad that there is not a recipe. Mayybe that is a good thing though because that looks like it could put me in a diabetic coma.

  14. Why do I always read these food ones at breakfast time, argh!! They all look fantastic, the mars bar one makes me feel sick though, too rich by far. I’d have t take the cookie dough bowl or maybe Minnie Mouse instead. 🙂

  15. I knew you would find a Mario to add – no Tardis? Bummer! However, at this moment I am hungry and would enjoy tasting all of them – always go for chocolate in liquid, solid or chips. I must admit, Love is In the Air is rather clever. I suspect you are a kid at heart.

  16. i should, i’m always ticking thing off of it but i don’t actually have one. I don’t think i’d even know where to start to be honest :L

  17. *LOL* Not really, I like to stick to the same sort of things each week, that way it is a little easier to come up with 6 ideas each and every week. So Cats on Caturday, Food Friday, but the rest of the days are fairly random. I just want to bring something new each and every day. And cats and cakes offer a very wide variety.

  18. I’ve wanted to make a massive cupcake for ages but now i’m seriously considering making one of these. The minnie mouse one is pretty amazing.

  19. Ice ice baby……… Well they actually all look delicious, great post and a very unusually subject, however it’s seems the world is just going crazy for cooking and baking.. Ivan

Which one did you like?
