The organizers have announced 12 teams that will come forward to compete for one of the biggest prize pools. The first one to get the direct invitation was the last year’s champions NiP. While Natus Vincere got the second direct invitation. Also, here we will see the world’s strongest teams, the likes of SK Gaming, Astralis and FaZe Clan. The 12 team invited are:

  • Virtus.pro

The Four Teams from the Qualifiers

During the last few months, the qualifiers of Europe, North America, and Asia-Oceania have been held. Let’s take a look at the four teams who will join the 12 teams at Malmo.

Renegades

For North America, Renegades’ team was able to gain qualification after a very tough final against Team Liquid. The opposition began to secure the pick of the renegades, Mirage, with a resounding 16-4. But thanks to Justin “jks” Savage, they were able to conquer the final with a 19-17 and a 16-12 in Cobblestone and Train, respectively.

EnvyUs & Mousesports

In Europe, it was both Mousesports and Envyus who secured a place when they both reached the final. Perhaps the biggest surprise was the elimination of GODSENT in the first round at the hands of Outlaws. This comes as a shock as in the previous Masters Malmö, they managed to reach the semifinals.

Asian Surprise

BOOT-dream Scape will be the representatives of the Asian zone. We have not heard of them so much. With a single major appearance in China Cup 2017, they were placed third.

The Champions of Fall

Last DreamHack Masters Championship was held last winter when the Virtus.pro Poles triumphed at the Las Vegas tournament. This Polish team won 200 thousand dollars.

The Title Chase Is on

The race will take place from 30 August to 3 September in Malmö, for the prize pool of $ 250,000. With lots of good teams and probably with great battles, there are a lot of things to change. So you should pay attention to the competition because there’s plenty of water going down the Danube before we get there!
