The Top 10, the Ultimate Garage, the Dream Collection.  Call it what you will it's always a fun game to play, imagining a workshop full of shiny exotica almost too nice to touch, spending all that time keeping them clean and polished so they're almost too nice to ride...  Wait!  Hold the bus right there.  If I'm going to have ten motorcycles they're going to get ridden, and ridden as fast and hard as I know how, which isn't really that fast, more like a tortoise on Red Bull than a hare, but that's not important.

My Top 10 tips to becoming a Photographer's Assistant

1. The most important thing to remember is that you don't need to be a photographer to be a Photographer's Assistant. Common sense absolutely rules (although a basic understanding of how a Digital SLR works would help).

2. Be prepared to work physically hard and for long hours. An all-day wedding for example, could last from 7am to 9pm + travel time, with a studio shoot running well into the early hours.

There are many different ways of coping with homesickness. One option is to indulge it completely by eating buttery toasted crumpets and sobbing to an episode of Countryfile. At the other end of the willpower spectrum we have the healthier, low-fat option: ignore the homesickness completely, go exploring, and lose yourself in the ‘otherness’ of your new home.
