The World’s Top 10 Best Examples of Anamorphic Illusions

The World's Top 10 Best Examples of Anamorphic Illusions

Anamorphic Illusion

It was the French artist Edgar Degas that once said this: “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” and each and every week I get to see one very good example of this because I work in Cardiff, Wales right near the barrage which is home to one of the World’s most well know examples of Anamorphosis. These unusual bits of art require the viewer to look at the art work from a very specific vantage point in order to see the image the artist intended you to see. They are often massive in size, often relatively simple images and if they are the World’s best they are known as… Continue reading

The World’s Top 10 Best Art Attacked Satellite Dishes

Art Attacked Satellite Dish

Being lucky enough to have SKY satellite TV is a real bonus in life, I just feel so lucky to have access to thousands of channels with the same old rubbish on them! But my problem is not with the poor quality TV they offer, but rather the poor amount of colours your dish can come in! Black/grey mesh and that is your lot! But I don’t want an ugly dish attached to the side of my house and it seems that I am not alone. So many people hate the boring designs that giving them a touch of paint and colour has become a real art form, so why don’t we try to discover just what is… Continue reading

The World’s Top 10 Best Canstruction Designs

Piano made with tins of food

This blog post is all about “Canstruction” a charity event that tries to raise awareness about the sheer amount of people who are relying more and more on food banks just to survive. Now all these amazing designs ( that are all just tins of food and not much more) are made by architects, designers, general trades-people and students are just a chance to show what a tin of food can be seen as something happy to some people. Normally these builds are taken from their designers own happy memories, so I bring you… Continue reading

The World’s Top 10 Best Makaon Recycled can art sculptures

I am not the kind of guy that people would instantly associate with the being an “Art Lover”, sure I do appreciate a good painting like the Mona Lisa but when it comes to modern art I just have not got a clue. But when a fellow nerdette makes art then I naturally enjoy it because that artist has been inspired by the same things that I like! But there isn’t many modern artists that have done enough to warrant a whole top 10 inspired solely by their work. But Japanese artist “Makaon” has done just that and it does bring me great pleasure to bring you just a small selection of her work… Continue reading

The World’s Top 10 Best Things to do With Empty Toilet Rolls

The World’s Top 10 Best Things to do With Empty Toilet Rolls

Toliet roll sculpture from Yuken Teruya

Images of things that have been recycled into something cooler than what it originally was is one of my favourite things to look at. Most people call it “Upcycling” But I call it pure genius. From old ladders, cars, books and even pallets, they have all been given the upcycling treatment. But what about normally pointless empty toilet paper rolls?!? Surly there is something we can turn them into!? Well it seems that there are hundreds of amazing ideas that people have come up with to use them up. Well I have not got the time to bring you hundreds of them and you have most probably not got the time to read them. So why don’t we just take a look at what I think is… Continue reading

The World’s Top 10 Best Ways to Paint Pebbles!

The World’s Top 10 Best Ways to Paint Pebbles!

Monsters painted onto pebbles

Each and everyday I walk my dog Alfie. But last weekend just gone (for a bit of a treat) I decided to take him for a walk along the beach. He played fetch, went into the water (despite the biting cold)  and generally had loads of fun. But he also found something! When he couldn’t find his ball (because he was stood on it) he picked up a pebble and dropped by my feet. But it wasn’t the stupidity of the “standing on the ball so he can’t find it” that surprised me because he always does it! It was the fact that the pebble was heart shaped! I thought it was amazing and decided to take it home and paint it red. But when looking for the best way to paint my pebble I came across something rather amazing… Continue reading

The World’s Top 10 Best Images of Art Attacked Drains

The World’s Top 10 Best Images of Art Attacked Drains

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The other week I did a blog post entitled “Best Images of Art Attacked Bins” and it grew my respect of street art as a whole. There is just so many good artists out there that really no-one has ever heard of and sadly not even seen their work. In fact many a street artist will see their work washed away down the drain before anyone has even seen it! But it seems some street artists have been starting where most their work ends up, so without further ado I bring you… Continue reading

The World’s Top 10 Best Images of Art Attacked Bins

To most people a rubbish bin might be just a place to put their waste, sadly to others it is a source of food. But to some people bins are none of those, they are all individual characters waiting for a little art attack on them to show people their true self. And this blog is dedicated to those people who try to bring a little bit of colour, maybe even a little bit of happiness to were there otherwise would never be any. It brings a smile on my own face to bring you…
