Images of things that have been recycled into something cooler than what it originally was is one of my favourite things to look at. Most people call it “Upcycling” But I call it pure genius. From old ladders, cars, books and even pallets, they have all been given the upcycling treatment. But what about normally pointless empty toilet paper rolls?!? Surly there is something we can turn them into!? Well it seems that there are hundreds of amazing ideas that people have come up with to use them up. Well I have not got the time to bring you hundreds of them and you have most probably not got the time to read them. So why don’t we just take a look at what I think is…
The World’s Top 10 Best Things to do With Empty Toilet Rolls
10 – Everything has its place
We start this post of with a good one. This rather amazing “Stationary Caddy” is prefect to use up lots of loo rolls all at once, and great to make with kids or without. Want to make one? Well just click on that image link and away you go! (might have a go myself)
9 – Welcome to the “Corner Forest”
What you are looking at is the art work of “Yuken Teruya” and is nothing more than some old toilet rolls that make been cut and folded to look like sprouting and spreading branches! While this is most probably way beyond us normal people’s art skills, it is still worth including because with a little bit of practice you might be able to do something similar.
8 – Feed the birds!
Simply roll an empty toilet roll in peanut butter and then roll that in some seeds and Bob’s your uncle you have an instant DIY bird feeder! This amazing idea is done step by step with you over on the image source link. Good use of empty rolls and great fun to make as well.
7 – From cardboard to Iron!
This is not some weird Alchemy Transmutation but is in fact something rather amazing to make with all those empty toilet rolls! And the best bit is that there is once again a full on step-by-step guide on the image link! This just might be worth a go I think.
6 – It is all fun and games!
This “Marble Run” game made with several old loo rolls is perfect for birthday party fun, or maybe just to keep the little ones amused. Stuff it, even I want to have a play with this!!!
5 – Fit for a Princess
Now before anyone says anything I know this is not the most original thing made with toilet rolls but this image, this build is! What I love about it is that it’s not too hard to copy and this one looks far better than all the other castle built with loo rolls. Also, please do check out the image link as it leads to the artist who made it and fellow wordpress blogger.
4 – “Just who is….BatRoll?!?”
Love it , love it, love it! This fantastic idea for Halloween doesn’t just look great but is also fairly simple to make. Just click on the (source) link and there is a great step-by-step guide on how to make them. Fun to make even if Halloween is a long time away I think!
3 – Which one is wipey?!?
Why not bring a touch of Disney Magic to your home by making these rather cool looking Dwarfs from Snow White?!? Simple to make (via the simple to follow guide in the image link) and they would be great fun to make with the little ones or maybe for a Christmas decoration.
2 – Toilet roll and happy memories.
WOW! For me that is just about all I can say about these incredible pieces of art so maybe it is best to just hand you over to the words of the artist themselves a Ms Annastassia Elias: “I cut the small paper shapes that I stick inside the toilet paper rolls. I use tweezers to manipulate the paper shapes. I select the paper of the same colour as the roll. It gives the illusion that the paper figures make part of the roll.” So it is nothing that the likes of you and me will be able to replicate. But it’s still worth including in this list for sure.
1 – Nerds can upcycle as well!
For me it just doesn’t get any better than this. Being a nerd I have more wires than I can use and always have bags and draws full of them. Well I think that is in the past, because now I know how to make one of these amazing “Toilet roll wire organiser” by following the step-by-step guide to make on in the image link!
